Album Notes

The Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival is thrilled to have Michael Andrew\'s work recorded on this fabulous collection, inspired by our 2005 professional production of Twelfth Night. Michael\'s work on this music ranges from 1930\'s style full orchestral arrangements to jazzy ukulele accompanied by \"Mills Brothers\" style harmonies, bringing Shakespeare\'s lyric and soul to great life! His underlying themes and blending of Shakespeare\'s words with music is a joy to listen to and infused our production with great soul and depth. During the production process, Michael gave us not only his tremendous talents as a composer, creating a beautiful original score, but re-composed, re-recorded and added sections continuously, coached actors, produced the special \"old-time\" movie sections, and at all times went far beyond what would be considered his job. I feel that the thing that distinguishes a great artist is not only their talent, but their complete commitment to art, their willingness to give collaborative projects their full heart and soul without ego or conceit All of us at the Festival are tremendously proud to work with Michael and hope we get the chance to do so again soon! I listen to this music with great joy and great memories. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
