Years in the making, this album was the most humbling and inspiring thing I’ve ever done, and the following people helped in remarkable ways with their patience, passion, their love, work ethic and persistence. It just wouldn’t have happened without them: My brother Jamieson- the strongest ally one will EVER have, you connected me to so much; my brother Ben- for tirelessly working on this album cover, and the great talks; Rainbow Borden- you span vast dimensions and make it look easy; and for the new banjo; Jim Cadigan- Articulating with such mastery all those things that seem so fleeting, giving me renewed vision along the way; Charlie Campagna- a sorcerer of sound, and giving so much of yourself to all the lucky people around you; Mikael Sandgren- Where the rubber meets the road (where the oar meets the water?) Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for this collaboration; Moira Smiley- the epicenter, well of strength, thank you for helping me tell this musical story; Ron Sures- for caring so much about the music. Come back soon; Mark Wheaton @ Catasonic Studio- These songs would be like a stack of papers in the wind if not for you; Bob Rice- many thanks for your beautiful finishing touches. Least of which- my father, who kept feeding my passion for guitar, and my mother for her writing and art everywhere while we were growing up.

A Treasure for Folkies with an Adventurous Spirit
author: Jason Mandell

This is a rich, beautiful album with plenty of the familiar musical touchstones folkies love -- great finger-picking, gorgeous and ethereal slide guitar, rural textures, campfire vocals. But it's so much more than that. Sonically, the album isn't limited to the black-and-white pallet that makes so many Americana albums grow dull; this record is a rainbow, wandering through moments of tasteful psychedelia and melancholy pop. And the lyrics are a thrilling puzzle, revealing new meanings with every listen. I hear echoes of Mark Knopfler, Wilco and even the pastoral musical narratives of Aaron Copeland. It's a journey and it gets better and truer every time I play it. I'd urge anyone who's looking for something a little bit surprising and refreshing and, above all honest, to buy it.
