Album Notes

RITA ANDRIELLO is Off the Sill with New Vocal CD

Rita Andriello, soprano and star of the one-woman show TOMATOES ON A WINDOWSILL, releases her first Vocal CD: "Off the Sill" (Songs my father loved and some he didn't). She is accompanied by pianist, Sergio Minervini.

The CD is inspired by her one-woman show. Rita has only a few musical moments in TOMATOES ON A WINDOWSILL, which is based on her experiences growing up in New York in an Italian American home. However, those musical moments always leave the audience wanting more. Her husband, director and producer Patrick Feren, who is also featured on the cd, said, "After the show, people ask me, 'Can I take her voice home with me? Does she have a CD?' Now we can finally say yes."

The CD includes twelve classical and semi-classical songs, including, "O mio babbino caro", "Ave Maria", and a special Christmas addition: "O, Holy Night". Rita is especially excited to introduce the first USA recording of her father's Neapolitan composition, "Schiavo".

"I call the CD 'Off the Sill' because I've incorporated songs that tell the story of my life, giving tribute to my heritage, my family, and the woman that I have become."

Rita studied classical voice extensively with Maralin Niska of New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera. She has a MA in Theatre from the University of New Mexico, where she raised a family and taught and directed Theatre and Musical Theatre. She has performed throughout the Southwest, California and Off-Broadway, New York. She has starred in such shows as "Camelot", "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", "Man of La Mancha", "Sound of Music" and "Brigadoon." She and her husband have their own cabaret act: "Love Notes", which has be presented at the Gardenia Room in Los Angeles.

Her one-woman, show "TOMATOES ON A WINDOWSILL" is now on tour throughout the California area. To read more about Rita and Patrick, TOMATOES ON A WINDOWSILL, or to book the show, make sure to check out the You & Me Productions website at www.younmeprods.com.

Wow, my breath was taken away with "Ave Marie". It'll open the door to cherished (fond) memories that may have otherwise been forgotten.
