Andy Cater is a talented singer/songwriter/musician/producer from Northern California and is currently Worship Leader and Music Director at Redwood Covenant Church in Santa Rosa, CA. When you listen to Andy sing, you often are reminded of the smooth acoustic sound of James Taylor, with the rhythmic sophistication of Steely Dan, and the transparency of Chris Rice and Tommy Walker. A prolific songwriter for over 25 years, he often co-writes with local and Nashville lyricists. His song, "Hallelujah Song" was recently featured on Worship Leader Magazine's Song Discovery CD, a publication of the latest and best songs for worship sent to over 20,000 church leaders worldwide. This song was also awarded the SongSeeker Award at the Saddleback Church Purpose Driven Worship Conference in July 2005.
Andy enjoys creation, particularly the coast, and spending time with his family. Andy has a wonderful family - wife, Denise, and three children, Jeremy, Jenelle, , and Jacob, all of whom enjoy playing and singing as much as he does.
The Ocean's Roar is Andy’s debut solo CD of all original Christian songs. Many of Andy's songs are introspective, written from the core of his deep personal relationship with God. The songs on this CD are encouraging, speaking of God's love and unmerited grace. Many of his songs on this project are worship songs, commonly used in worship at Redwood Covenant Church and other churches around the country.
