Whatever the force is that keeps the universe in motion and the planets in orbit, that same invisible, empty force holds apart the spacious, reverberating spaces inside these structure-loving songs. While sentimentality finds a place and wistful, emotive expression is well-placed inside dreamy fantasies and curving, slicing melodies, there is a consistently well-formed and directed muse that shines through these twelve delicious tracks.
