Album Notes

Take Fresh Mid Atlantic Blues, add a little Rock, sprinkle with Folk and finally add a slither of Country, mix well and put in a hot emotional oven for 27 years. Well I guess that about sums it up. I finally had something to say....not in my DNA spreading 20's like most musicians, but in my mid life crisis ridden 40's........ah......much better material! This album boasts some of the cream of South Englands musicians, notably Al Clarke on Harmonica who's melodic approach to soloing and structure I will always be grateful for. Perry White on Keyboards who's quartet are regulars at the world famous Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in London. Tony Rico who has lent his excellent horn playing to the likes of The Wailers, Desmond Dekker, prince Buster and the Specials. Katie Bradley who is a new rising star in the British Blues scene. A BIG thank you goes to my old 'muckers' Graham Jonston and sean Mcgran for driving the engine. My background is simple, Hendrix, Peter Green, anything on Blue Horizon and Chess. I've played with Mungo Jerry, supported the likes of Dr Feelgood, Joe Jackson, Geno Washington drunk far to much beer and definitly eaten too many curries, ......but my love for 'real music' has endured and I've finally had the courage to commit my music to CD. If you like your music to have a spontaneous and live feel, played by 'real musicians' hopefully you should enjoy this CD. Cheers!

Rock \'n\' Reel - Magazine review Sept 08
author: Richard
Rock ’n’ Reel Magazine Review Sept 08 Category: Music The first thing to strike you about Andy Lester is that, clearly, here is a guitarist who knows his trade. He lists his influences as Peter Green and Hendrix - no surprises there - but both his excellent rhythmic and melodic work put me more in mind of the more soulful stylings of the great Robert Ward. The second thing to strike you is the quality of his band. Blue Train have a rhythm section that are worth travelling a long way to hear. Graham Jonston on bass and Sean McGran on drums provide a solid and unobtrusive platform that simply invites the rest of the musicians to shine. The keyboard work of Perry White is exceptional, particularly on \'The Highest Jumper\' where a lush Hammond sound and beautifully judged piano neatly dovetail with Andy Lester\'s guitar. The real star of the album however, is harmonica player Al Clarke. The harmonica is not everyone\'s favourite instrument but Clarke\'s emphasis on a gentler country/blues style makes for an accessible and warm sound that adds real colour, texture and shade. There is much to like and admire here - great musicians playing real music with a genuine sense of warmth. Weatherman makes a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.

author: Marvin Green - Arizona (USA)
I bought 8 cd's from cd baby with 'Weatherman' but yours is the one I haven't taken out of my player and have gone around babbling to anyone who would listen(and some who wouldn't) about what a great album this is. As a long time listener to British blues I am very excited about your current crop of talent. Keep up the great work.
