Andy Macintyre & his band, The Primal Groove are a Blues/Rock power trio from the "Live Music Capital of The World", Austin, Texas.

Andy Macintyre's Primal Groove is an explosive, high-energy trio with an intense blend of dynamics, taste and power. Andy is gathering a tremendous buzz around Austin, especially around Austin's famed 6th street, where his band has been in high demand. He is becoming known by the killer combination of intense, highly skilled guitar playing mixed with a soulful voice and powerful songwriting.

Growing up in Chicago, Andy honed his musical tastes and style on the acoustic and electric guitar. (Interesting note: Andy is a natural lefty, but plays right-handed.) Completely self-taught, Andy learned entire albums of Blues/Rock and Pop/Funk. As a teenager Andy moved to Austin and found many amazing opportunities in the local music scene. After 3 years and 2 albums with local famed Indie band, Dorkstar, he decided to step out and commit full-time to his own music with The Primal Groove.

Andy has just completed the recording of his first solo, full-length album. Most exciting for him was working with Sound Engineer, Ben Blank, a man with nine gold records under his belt. One of those with artists Nine Inch Nails. Others he has worked with include Chris Duarte, Butthole Surfers, and several artists of local Austin, Texas fame. (see www.benblankmedia.com)
