Album Notes

For me there have been many musical influences. From horn players the likes of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Ernie Watts; to the keyboards of Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk and Keith Emerson and of course, a multitude of guitar players from Larry Carlton, Jimmy Hendrix, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Phil Upchurch, Cal Green and Johnny Smith, just to name a few. But when it comes to Solo Jazz Guitar no one has captivated me like Joe Pass. His blend of bass line, cords and melody lines excites me to no end. There have been few styles that I have experienced that have made me say "I gotta know how to do that" This album is my interpretation of that style and my tribute to one of the best that ever was.
