Ten brilliant songs. Ten intriguing musical worlds. Ten masterpieces.

I generally agree with the other reviewers. "Pillbox" is absoutely great. The songs are so mature(d). Every detail - and there are so many to be discovered - has found its own carefully constructed place; but always integrated as an indispensable part of a whole. The songs are really capitvating; intellectually and emotionally. And of course: great playing and singing as well as a far more than satisfying sound quality. Only, I think, Andy Rinehart is not 1 in a million. Because there´s a second in this million. Or let's say the first: Peter Gabriel. He's a major reference. At least for 'Dragon Fly'. But Rinehart's "Pillbox" in no way may be seen as a PG-copy. No, its the long awaited second splendid and distinctive appearance of the emperor's equally talented brother (or cousin? nephew? a little younger anyway ... My apologies for becoming so turgid.). Buy this CD! And also, if you can get it, its 4-stars-predecessor "Jason's Chord" .

Inventive and Reinvented
author: Markleford Friedman
Rinehart goes beyond the framework laid out by his previous efforts and digs deeper into the texture of music. The familiar vocal stylings are still there and his songwriting is as strong as ever (ye faithful: be assured!), but the instuments and sounds that surround the mix have gone a step beyond: surprising, inventive, and altogether satisfying. It is unlikely that anyone could have predicted "Pillbox" as the logical successor to "Jason's Chord", but when the results are so captivating it's doubtful anyone could complain!
