I really enjoy Andy's style.  As a musician and a writer all elements of an album are important to me, and this album covers all the bases.  Intriguing and excellently written music paired with delightfully surprising lyrics and an engaging, intimate style make this album a must-buy.  I was sad to only rate this release at four stars instead of a full five because track #2 is a little adult for family listening.  The musical quality is just as high as the rest of the tracks, but I'm just not comfortable playing it.  I don't want to have to answer the question: "Mommy, why did he come in through the window instead of the front door?" .  . . Um.  Yeah. . . .

Despite that, I'll be watching for news of more releases from Andy; it will be great to see what he comes up with next.  More acoustic instrumentals to follow "Nylons"?  More fun in Spanish?  My kids absolutely adore "Seras Amado" and "Maria".  More thoughtful and introspective pieces like "Great Granddaddy Knew"?  I feel that this album, which was clearly a big undertaking and took a tremendous amount of hard work, (you don't get music this good without it), is just the tip of the iceberg of Andy's musical ability. This genius is a genius. He writes with a conviction only inmates can relate to. The feeling you get listening to this music rivals that of a midnight bidet but with twice the cleaning power. My CD player will always be the same.
