Dixieland Downtown is the second live recording performed by Clarinetist Andy Sherwood and his Dixieland Jazz Quartet. Once again Andy pays tribute to his favorite clarinet player, Pete Fountain, especially on the third tune entitled, "Blues for Pete." Some of these tunes are also on Andy's "While We Danced at the Mardi Gras" and "Dixieland Clarinet Live!" CDs. Here they are done with a new flare and on Andy's brand new Pete Fountain "Big Easy" Leblanc clarinet. As with the first live recording the band members include, Tom Briggs on drums, Ian Frenkel on piano and Mark McCormick on bass. These players provide the ultimate swinging rhythm section for playing these tunes. In addition to these recordings, Andy's clarinet can be heard in various venues around Southeastern Connecticut.
