Must be heard!

Pray, the new Single from the band Anemo straight out of the UK, must be heard. What stands out the most is the amazing female vocalist who has an unusually powerful yet beautiful voice, that just simply rocks out with the music. It is rare to find a voice so strong, punchy, and all at the same time totally hip. The song is a blend of powerpop and alternative rock, but it also has a dance remix that gets you grooving. The lyrics are exceptionally well written and the song is dynamically sound. What is more, the song is catchy, memorable, and the production is A++
I really think this band has a lot of potential; this is a song I expect to hear out on the dance floor and the radio soon.

Empassioned anti-war rock song
author: Matt Churchill - www.glasswerk.co.uk
‘Pray’ is a heart-felt scream against war in modern times. Bordering on anthemic, the band use heavy guitars driving bass and drums on this track which builds the song into a nearly-but-not-quite angst-ridden frenzy which threatens to explode from the CD in which it is encased.
The band, who won the 2006 Classic Rock Society Best Live Act award, have written an empassioned rock song with a strong anti-war message. Toying with politics in music can sometimes lead to disaster (‘Shoot The Dog’ anyone?) but with this, Anemo have cracked that particular nut with no problem at all.

"Magnificent"

Anemo's debut album Slowburn got an excellent review from GRTR! So what of their first post debut single Pray inspired by the capture and hostage taking of BBC correspondent John Simpson?
Opening with eastern wailing, and this time out with twin lead vocals from sisters Hazel and Erika Woodhurst, the good news is that Anemo have taken their sound onto a new level with a terrific rock track that is not only one of the best you'll hear this year, but which also reveals a band that no longer sounds derivative. The future looks bright. Very bright indeed. Magnificent. *****

"Phenomenal" - single of the month!

Phenomenal.
So perfectly does that one word sum up ‘Pray’, the latest single from Brighton based rockers Anemo, that we could be perfectly justified in leaving this review at that.
We’re not going to though. After all, we’re so unashamedly in love with this mighty anthem that it just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t gush about it some more.
Inspired by the story of John Simpson, the BBC's world affairs editor who was accompanying a convoy of US special forces and Kurdish fighters when it came under attack from an American warplane, ‘Pray’ is an anthemic, emotive look at the human side of the war, without getting caught up in any moral debate over right and wrong.
And if that sounds somewhat depressing, think again.
From the opening eastern wailing and thumping bass drum, right through to the dramatic, dynamic finale by way of a big, fat, juicy bassline and an emotive, energised chrorus, everything about this songs makes you wish you were at an Anemo gig, bouncing along to every beat and singing along to every word.
But perhaps the best thing about ‘Pray’ is that it’s a stayer. Unlike many singles that quickly loose all their appeal once you’ve heard them for the millionth time, this song, if anything, gets better with each listen. We’ve been listening to it daily since it first arrived at LINC HQ six weeks back, and we’re still loving it.
Don’t just take our word for it though, give them a listen yourself. Please. It’s rare that we ever beg you to do anything, but please, for the sake of all that is good and right in music, do yourself a favour and allow yourself to fall in love with this song.
