ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Journey contains 5 songs written by singer/ songwriter/ pianist/ composer Angela Wang.

From the first song Dance with the string, the album opened with a very mysterious vibe. A progressive rock song with very rich chord progression and tempo changes, tells a story about how our lives are sometimes restricted by our surroundings, the society and people around us. The eager of breaking free for our dreams conflict with the value of the world...

The second song is alternative/ drum & bass and electronic influenced. With chromatic approach the song represents the conflicts between our right brain and left brain. Our emotion and instinct and our logical mind are usually telling us to make different decisions in life, and who know which to listen to...

"Dream" is a song full of emotion, longing and desires. What our heart want even when everything seems not possible. With the eerie guitar effects, along with the beautiful piano guiding lines, tells a story of love and lost.

"Drop of the Tear" is a metaphor of how our lives related to the universe. How our lives are unfolded in a unexpected yet exciting way. It's a song full of hope and energy. With Angela's influence of Japanese/punk rock style.

The last song "Journey" is about the understanding of life. Instead of dreaming about something far away, or in the future, we should appreciate what is in front of us. This songs is influenced by Irish folk and tribal rhythmic music. with a soulful taste, Angela brings in a refreshing style music.

Angela Wang has a very wide range of musical knowledge equipped from her solid musical education and from her lifetime performance experiences. As a film composer herself, Her music tends to have a rich context and floating movement. Which will bring you to her inner world. "Journey" is like a story of her life happened in 2012, once again she use her music to share her findings and understandings about life to the world. It's not just pop music. It's a story full of heart and soul.

In this album once again Angela worked with the best musicians in NYC. With Shure touring musician Pony Tinajero brings in the rich and creative sound of guitar elements, the drummer from her previous band Atama Hu, who is the current drummer of established metal band "Nocturne Moonrise," and established electric bass player Vlad Borkovski, composer Douglas Bradford. The band brought in great energy to the well composed songs.
Produced by Angela Wang, recorded by Engineer Nick Smeraski, mixed by Matt Craig, mastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering.
