These songs and chants from different traditions and in different languages and musical styles have touched the listener’s hearts on my touring across the world, including mine. Often a song comes spontaneously as a message for a particular life situation/lesson. Most of these songs are original compositions and some are adapted from traditional Sanskrit prayers/mantras and I also included the Schubert version of Ave Maria by popular request and the world famous Moola Mantra Invocation from Oneness University. Once I was asked by a Unity minister friend if I could provide a song on Gratitude for the Sunday morning service, so on the day before I went into receiving mode and the song for track 2 came all at once with music and words. It has Thank You in 11 different languages in the chorus. “I Am Love”, track one, has a deeply joyful feeling about it. And Jai Amma Bhavani is a re-recorded version of my chant to the Universal Mother from 1992 and is one of my favorite tracks on this album. “Sacred Heart” showed up in a moment of deep sorrow, like a life line to a greater wisdom then what the mind can conjure up in times of heartache. When ever I sing the Ave Maria, the presence of the Divine Mother is so tangible, allowing the heart to melt into hers. The Sanskrit Mantras/Hymns/Prayers have a special power to transform an agitated mind into a peaceful space and help us to connect to the serene nature of being. I am deeply grateful for this music that flows through me to uplift and transform. To manifest it in this world, no effort is too great, no journey too far, no obstacle to big and I am truly blessed. For me music is a gift from existence itsself. I never planned to be a world traveling musician, but once a long time ago, sitting in a garden in deep reflection I asked with all my heart: “what should I do with my life ?” To my greatest surprise I heard a clear voice from nowhere and everywhere with one brief message: “Healing through music”. I did not know at the time what this meant and how it would look and yet I followed this voice in the best way I knew how. It has been an incredible journey of unfolding and awakening. The music continues to flow from a place in me that is whole, connected to the All and I feel a responsibility to use such a powerful tool to uplift, inspire and bring comfort and joy. It has that effect on me. I hear so many stories, how it helped a child, a troubled teen, a person in transition, someone with a heartache, another in a hospital or in gatherings and healing sessions of all kinds.
With deepest gratitude to everyone I meet and to the musicians, artists, technical wizards, teachers and friends that have so lovingly given their encouragement, support and talent to help “birth” this music into its present form.
