Album Notes

"We've heard half a dozen tracks and they're brilliant"
-Acoustic Live

After a steel mill bankruptcy, Angelo M. (short for Melasecca) made the unlikely transition from steelworker to touring artist. Reviews hail him a “Brilliant Guitarist” with an “Excellent Voice” and call his performance “Powerful”. His music is featured in the PBS TV Series ROADTRIP NATION, and he won recognition in both the prestigious "Mountain Stage" NewSong Contest & Billboard's Song Contest for Thirty Years; a song from his Debut CD. The Debut called Far From Home(2005) also received airplay across the US and abroad. And it looks like Angelo M.'s new CD, STEELWORK is showing promise to follow suit...
Roadtrip Nation is interested in music from this new CD for their 2009/2010 Season and Acoustic Live had this to say about Angelo's new music:

"We've heard half a dozen tracks and they're brilliant"

Check out Acoustic Live's feature article on Angelo M at ACOUSTICLIVE.COM, Not bad for someone who before releasing his debut CD could be found working toward a 30 year pension in a Pennsylvania Steel Mill. Ahead of the curve, as far as, the economic downturn is concerned, Angelo M. switched gears a few years ago from steelworker to performing songwriter when the steel mill he worked at for decades went bankrupt taking his pension with it. Though an accomplished finger-style and slide guitarist, who's also noted for playing Dobro, mandolin and harp, Angelo M. shelved the idea of being a full-time musician to raise his family with the security of a day-job. That was until this ironic twist of fate had him toss his hard hat and pick up his guitar.

Since then Angelo's music has played across the US, as well as, parts of Europe & Japan; he's appeared on several radio programs including the Nationally syndicated radio show, River City Folk(airing on Public Radio Stations & XM Satellite Radio) and The Folk Show on Philadelphia's noted 88.5 WXPN ! Angelo was selected as from over 500 artist to be part of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's Emerging Artist Showcase in 09, and in 2008 Angelo was selected as a Main Showcase performer at the Far West Folk Alliance and a Tricentric Performer at the Northeastern Folk Alliance. Angelo's performed at numerous festivals in including the Johnstown Folk Festival where he received a standing ovation and he's making quite an impression on the blues scene as well: "A Gifted Musician with Incredible Dexterity on finger-picking guitar, slide Dobro and mandolin... After his powerful performance, many people were asking where and when they could see him again. - Kalamazoo Festival Review by Tim Richards
