Angel's Music Biography

Angel "Sabroso" Sepulveda was born in East Los Angeles CA, of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent. By the age of 5 Angel was performing for friends and relatives at fiestas and family parties. Angel would save all his tips from these fiestas and his allowance that his Dad would give him for Music Lessons of percussion, piano and voice. In Grammer, Jr. High and in High school he took music either in the Marching band or Jazz band, but in Jr. High he fell in love with the vocal styles of the singer of the Midnighter's Mr. Willie "G" Garcia. Now he was all about his singing career because of Willie "G", he continued with music in Jr. college to recieve his AA in music in 1972.

In 1990 he put together the band Angel Sabroso & Company doing cover tunes in 70's R&B Funk and Salsa music in some of the best Night Clubs and Hotel's in L. A. and Orange County. Angel recorded his first Bilingual Salsa record in 1993 with a Love Song called "Love Won't Let Me Wait" a 1970's R&B balled recording by Major Harris. Radio Announcer "SANCHO" a.k.a. Daniel Castro from "The Sancho Show" made it all possible with all the proceeds from Chicano Music Awards for many young gifted Latinos to get College Scholarships, through his program and this recording by Angel Sabroso.

Angel Sabroso & Company have played along and opened for many big Recording Head Liner's like Eddie Palmeri, Tito Puente at night Clubs like Steven's Steak House, The Hop, JC Fandango's, El Parieso, Cuban Pete's Restaurant and many more, please see web-site for more pictures and history. In 1995 Bill Lazerus of Dos Corona Records herd this song on the Salsa Radio Station "Canto Tropical" ( 91.7 FM ) with DJ Hector Resendez, Hector arranged for Bill to meet with Angel at the radio station in Hollywood, CA. The rest is History with our own from Los Angeles, CA.

Angel Sabroso had his dream come true with a recording date. Angel was asked to sing on a Sound Track for a HBO Original Movie "The Eddie Matos Story" The Movie was about a good kid that went sour into the life of selling drugs and was crippled by a drive by shooting. Angel and Danny sang on a Salsa Club scene were Bobby Matos walks out of the club and gets shot by a rival gang member, its a great movie if you have a chance rent it at your local video store.

In 1992 Angel developed what he calls "Bilingual Salsa Music" with lyrics in both in English and Spanish. Angel's new Cd to be released in June 2001 has a new flavor with Santana and Ricky Martin opening the doors in the industry. Angel will also include R&B, Pop, Tex-Mex and his Bilingual Salsa music in his new Cd called Making Ends Meet featuring Angel Sabroso & Friends with featured Vocalist's Mike Jimenez from the band Tierra singing "Your Still A Young Man" and "Someday We'll Get By", Rocky Padilla singing "Making Ends Meet" a duet with Angel Sabroso also Stacie Jimenez singing on "Margarita."
