ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Venturing outside the confines of the pop music format I had been accustomed to working in was a revelation to me,” says Michael Hodjera, the creator of the Angels and Astronauts series. “I found the process of writing and recording the first Angels and Astronauts CD so inspiring, I could hardly wait to have another go.

"About a month after the completion of the first Angels and Astronauts CD, I started work on this second project. Like the first CD, it was written and recorded in about two weeks. In this CD, I wanted to do something that was more earthy, something that evoked rivers and rain, forests and grassland, and the wonders of the natural world. There’s more perscussion here, more use of rhythm generally. As with the first CD, I was writing a new piece virtually everyday and changing musical direction as often."
