ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Needless to say, I love music - every kind of music, as long as it is good. But I love making it even more. When he was 'urging' me to practice the piano, my dad used to ask, 'Do you want to be a producer, or just consumer of music?' That question didn't have much impact on me when I was six years old, but now as I participate in the creative process, I can't imagine having missed out on it. It is literally like God is pouring life into me and its release comes through songwriting."

Angie's eclectic style flows from her early exposure to everything from the smooth jazz of Sade to the intellectual musings of Sarah McLachlan and Sting to the indigenous vibes of the thirty countries where she has spent time.

Her unpretentious lyrics are a display of personal life experiences, spiritual discovery, and at times, offer unedited glimpses into her soul.

"I don't have a long history in music yet, but I hope one day that my pursuit of excellence in the creative process will result in longevity. I want to write and perform songs of depth...timeless music that offers entertainment, and even nourishment to the mind, soul, and spirit. I have so much to learn, but I am beginning to see that there is an audience out there who appreciates my music where it is right now, and anticipates along with me the places it has yet to go."

Those who have already discovered her music eagerly await the journey.

Pretty good...
I have both of Angie's CDs and I like her first one (Umbrella) better. It's a little more raw and I prefer that sound over the more polished sound of this CD. The one thing that is hard for me to get over though is how much she sounds like her sister Twila Paris. Good thing I like Twila!

This CD is amazing! Angie Paris has a voice like silk. Her music is rich, pure and deep. The soothing tones of her singing blend congruently with her unique artistic style. The lyrics are meaty and the composition is original. It's not at all ordinary. Buy this album if you have an ear thirsty for fine artistry.

A voice smooth as silk...
I excitedly bought this CD sight/unseen, (or should I say sound/unheard), not knowing anything about Angie Paris’ music. After listening to this little gem, I can honestly say it’s one of the best musical risks I’ve ever taken. This is the kind of music that tugs at one’s soul, which may be part of her plan as there is a message in her music. But it’s done subtlety, without sounding like preaching. To me, the stand out song is “Could Not Be Right,” a tune richly crafted with astonishing piano rifts and Paris’ hauntingly beautiful voice. This CD is on par with any of the better-known ones out there, in both professional and artistic quality. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a hunger for real music.
