Album Notes

AngleStone formed in the spring of 2008 following a chance meeting between singer/song writer/guitarist Brian Kiesel and drummer Michael Kaplan. A few weeks later, bassist Jeff Maus joined the band, after answering an on-line ad. Within a matter of months, these veteran musicians were playing to local audiences in Maryland and recording tracks for their debut CD.

The band's completely original repertoire is characterized by a driving, intricate rhythm section, melodic vocals and thought provoking lyrics, inspired by the band members' faith. The songs are accessible to general audiences while providing enough twists, turns, timing changes and instrumental solos to peak the interest of musical aficionados.

There Is The Hope, the band's debut CD, features 10 tracks whose styles range from hard driving rockers like "Come Into The Light", "Hole Inside My Heart" and "Speak", to the pop/rock flavored "I Can't Stand It" and the power ballad "Prodigal Son".

The name AngleStone was chosen from the biblical book of Isaiah ("...I am placing in Zion as a base, a tested stone, a cornerstone an angle stone") because it sounded solid, with an edge, like the music and was symbolic of the foundation stone of the band members' faith. It is often mispronounced "Angel" Stone(as in a celestial being) rather than "Angle" Stone (as in a 45 degree angle).

This power trio has impressed musicians and other music industry professionals with their tight, polished, innovative style. They have also touched the hearts of fans of all ages with their lyrical message of hope, love, forgiveness and compassion.

Brian Kiesel - lead guitar/vocals
