Angus Mohr defies a simple label, as exemplified by this album, "Celtic Concert for Tibet." A combination of classic rock and Celtic music, Angus Mohr hearkens to bands such as Seven Nations, Brother, Dropkick Murphy's and Flogging Molly, while retaining a style all their own.
This album features several original compositions, notably "Angus' Overture," "Talisman," and "Paladin." The album also features many traditional favorites, such as "Whiskey in the Jar" and "Drunken Sailor." In addition, Angus Mohr cover Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" and "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue," Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," a punk/pipe version of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire," as well as other songs from AC/DC, The Proclaimers, and Jethro Tull.
This album was recorded live as a benefit for The Tibetan Village Project, a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Tibet. The TVP has assisted in building clinics and supporting schools, renovating and rebuilding bridges to provide safe passage for more than 8,000 people.
