Album Notes

Angus Mohr is Highland Rock and Roll. Bagpipes rock out with crashing guitars and pounding drums, blurring the lines between music genres while maintaining a style that is uniquely their own.

This is the first studio album from Celtic rockers Angus Mohr. Produced by Doug Haywood, it features several Angus Mohr originals: instrumentals such as "Angus' Overture," "Talisman," and "Burning Circles Lament" (with didgeridoo), and the epic "Paladin." There are also several songs for which the band has become known, including "Morning Dew," Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'," "Ring of Fire" from Johnny Cash, & Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."

This album is a fine introduction to the music of Angus Mohr, and also a fitting compliment to the previous record, "Live at the Nomad: Celtic Concert for Tibet." It can be enjoyed on its own, or with a fine stout or single malt.

Awesome. It\'s amazing what one can find on CD Baby.To hear the great highland bagpipe blended into contempory tunes is a must listen, even for those who may dislike tradional pipes and drums. If only Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash had the foresight to include bagpipes in their original recordings we would all have a greater appreciation of their versatility. Some great original tracks, looking forward to the new CD. Hopefully the band will tour Australia one day.

I 1st heard this artist on Sirius Radio & was blown away. Did a search found the CD & bought it, love every track & since I'm a bagpipes student, I'm trying to learn a few tracks off the release. And what is even better!!! I'm going to CO. in Sept. & have purchased tickets to see the group in Estes Park the day I arrive, HOW Cool is that???? The last track is my favorite + I will be able to play it on my pipes by that weekend...
