Album Notes

Angus Mohr is Highland Rock and Roll. Bagpipes rock out with crashing guitars and pounding drums, blurring the lines between musical genres while maintaining a style that is uniquely their own.

This is Angus Mohr\'s second studio album, showing the growth and musical progression of the band. Produced by Angus Mohr with Scott \"Gusty\" Christensen, you will find it to be a hard rocking--yet pleasant--album to listen to. The Celtic rockers take on traditional music such as the heavy hitting bagpipe tune, \"Paddy\'s Leather Breeches\", their unique reworking of the \"Hangman Song\", and the ancient story of \"Isabel and the Elf-Knight\". In addition to a few covers (Bob Dylan\'s \"A Hard Rain\'s A Gonna Fall\", \"The Devil In Miss Jones\" by Mike Ness, and AC/DC\'s \"Long Way To The Top\") the album features several new original songs, notably \"Debt To The Devil\", \"Waltzing Alone\", and \"The Captains\' Song\", a tribute to friends who are no longer with us.

This record is a must-have for Angus Mohr fans the world over.

A great fusion!

Rock-and-roll with a Celtic take, and Celtic traditional with a rock-and-roll edge! Great stuff. "Hard Rain" may be the best rockin' Bob Dylan cover since Jimi did "Watchtower", and the original tunes are incredible! As a Cetic/folk aficionado, I do have to note that "The Hangman's Song" was hundreds of years old before Zep turned it into the awesome "Gallows Pole", But Bernice is absolutely right that it's a great version :)

Some great music here, traditional, home grown and cover versions with an original theme. As a Led Zep fan and die hard ac/dc follower I love the cover versions. The bagpipes are well used to compliment the various tracks but not overdone. Angus Mohr are not well known in the UK and deserve more coverage. Buy it!
