Album Notes

Inspired by a childhood on the Isle of Wight, a loss, the resulting journey back to the Island and the lifetime in between. This album is a reflection on the experiences that shape a person.

It is a reflection, but not a regression, as memories mix with experimentation to create something new and unique.

There is a theme of growth portrayed by the structure; whilst different genres are played with, including classical, jazz, avant garde and electronica, risking getting hopelessly lost, it all retains an onward flow and the sense that it all ties together.

The huge changes in tone add to the experience. You are presented with heart felt, searching songs alongside playful ones, that betray the odd sense of humour of their creator.

This is an artist that can be dark and moody, downright silly and everything in between, all without uttering a word.

Also showcased is his ever growing skill for writing and performing music, as well as an intuitive sense of just what a song needs.

One Week in Sand is the product of a constantly progressing musician, one that's keen to experiment, keen to learn and keen to have plenty of fun on the way.
