Born on November 30, 1976 and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Rundle Sr. (deceased) and Cassandra Brockman, Anitra Brockman aka "Ni Ni" realized she wanted to sing at the young age of 5 when she was standing in the mirror everyday singing with her hairbrush as a microphone. She grew up in the baptist church, and was very active in the youth choir and young adult choir.
Being a single mother of 3 proved to be very challenging for Anitra, but with her strong faith in God, she was able to persevere and completed a MBA in Business Administration, and has plans to complete a Doctoral degree in Education.
God has worked some wonders in Anitra’s life, and she is so grateful everyday for the vocal gift God has given her to share with others. She sings not to impress anyone, but her Savior and Lord, and will continue to spread His word through song. Her stage name is "Ni Ni" which means "favored grace" in Hebrew.
Anitra Brockman is inspired by many Contemporary Christian and Gospel artists such as Cincinnati’s own Nicole C. Mullen, CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Crystal Lewis, Martha Munizzi and too many more to name.
In her spare time, Anitra enjoys spending time with her 3 children (Janele, Janae, Jordan), friends and family.
"God has been so good to me throughout my life.....I praise HIM for all the blessings HE has bestowed upon me and my family. I never would have imagined that I would be 33 years old working on my debut album. I decided to name the first album "Brand New Me" because it symbolizes washing away the old and bringing in the new into my life. God washes away (forgives) our sins and essentially allows us to start fresh. How many people do we know give us that opportunity? Not many! I want the message in this album to be very clear to EVERYONE. Jesus died for all of US, and I am so grateful for His love and sacrifice. 2010 has been a new beginning for me all together. I have lost a tremendous amount of weight, started a new job, made some new friends and have come to terms with a "Brand New Me". No more will I dislike who God made me to be just to fit in, and no more will I compromise my standards or beliefs. I stand STRONG in my faith to Christ and I thank HIM for taking me on this journey to a "Brand New Me". "
