Album Notes

Anjuli Dawn is an emerging musical artist with an almost frightening sense of how to write a meaningful hook. She began writing music at age 12 when she discovered her knack for the guitar and has never really stopped (except for a few determined writer's blocks) since. She started performing in coffee houses at age 14 and put out her first solo recording at age 15. If I Stand, her third release, demonstrates her powerful command of instrument and language.

Coming from a musical family, some of Anjuli's first memories are of being in recording studios and backstage rooms with her mother's band. With such a past, it was natural for Anjuli to blossom into a songwriter and performer herself. She has taken the foundation of her mother's smooth voice singing her to sleep and built a truly fresh and new sound, not with awkward effort, but naturally; as a result of the music she has been surrounded by, and as a way of coping with the dish life has given her.

Anjuli Dawn has spent time recording in Nashville with Grammy-nominated songwriter Karen Taylor Good, and proudly presents musical collaboration on "If I Stand," with drummer Mark Bradley, who has been playing drums and percussion since age 4 and has performed with a variety of musicians including Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker, among many other musicians you have never heard of.

Now, an already remarkably experienced musician at age 21, Anjuli sees her life as the gift it is, and looks forward to many years of sharing her music with others.

REVIEWS

Anjuli's voiced lyrics are heard after the singing has stopped.

the mixing of the album could have been stronger, the voice and drumming makes the album. that extra bit at the end with water is weird and out of place, it confused my dog.

The music is awesome, the guitar sounded great, and the vocals are smooth the lyrics flow and are creative.

Awesome--great lyrics, great music.

This is a really fun CD to listen to. It ranges from poignant ballads like "Lavender" to powerful rockers like "Blaze." The lyrics are meaningful but not sappy, and the music is fresh, interesting and well-executed. An overall kick-ass piece of work!

Listening to this cd gives me a chance to escape reality. This cd has great lyrics and definite meaning behind each individual song. Let the words be heard, try not to mumble. But otherwise, totally AWESOME cd!
