Moving vocals, motivating and inspiring lyrics, heart moving and head knocking production are the easiest ways to describe the complexities that the group ankore presents. For an opening debut, "The People Said..." is unquestionably a giant leap forward for hip-hop music.
ankore is about bringing something new to table while staying consistent with the beginning traditions of hip-hop. An undeniably great hip hop and R&B album, this collection of music is capable of changing the face of music, inspiring the minds of young and old, and bringing back more of the artistic elements to music. At both spectrums, ankore is able to capture the commercial radio driven sound with catchy hooks and danceable beats, while conceptually centering in on the difficulties and intricacies of day-to-day, hard hitting personal issues. Well thought out and well presented, "The People Said..." globally, gives people hope for a brighter day.
The instrumentation and musicality of "The People Said..." can capture the interest of any hip-hop music lover. Aggressive bass lines, pounding drums, captivating and memorable melodies are only some of the ways to describe ankore's sound. ANKORE is unique for it engages both rap and singing. This becomes very appealing and pleasing to hip-hop, R&B, and pop listeners alike. "The People Said..." transfuses a certain amount of emotionality to their fans. It expresses what people what to express but don't express. Because of its musicality and conceptual leadership it creates the bridge people can cross over for self-exploration, healing, clarity, and definition.
'The People Said..." is more then just a collection of songs. It is the guide light to see thru the darkness. It is shape shifting and trend setting. Its instructiveness is palatable for people's consumption. It is the genius of urban culture. It is the creative initiative needed to elevate hip-hop music to a higher plateau of greatness. "The People Said..." has the potential to be labeled as one of the greatest and most memorable musical and lyrical compositions and contribution to the music world.
