this alone are we in that dark must of heavenly father
sanctuary bible dust in our hair, on the finger running the altar
finding the place where a holy man’s hands hold him
standing before you today and we bow our beautiful heads
and we lift our suffering chests in a sound written alone
on a rooftop on an island in a darkness
leaving only me and my grief’s beauty
to wail within stained glass
shaking like our bones
bowing to the breaking
of these holy days.
