Album Notes
A native of Scotland, Anna moved to the States in the summer of 2008 to pursue her dream of becoming a successful recording artist and sharing her music with the world. After living in Brooklyn, NY for 2 years following an invitation to record by music producer Brad Albetta and his wife Martha Wainwright, she has since found success in the Philadelphia area after moving to PA last summer.

Classically trained, and with a lifelong love of playing the piano, Anna’s unique and professional style shines through all of her music. Her songs are complex and mesmerizing layering her rich musical foundation with strong, emotional and poetic lyrics that stir the heart of her listeners.

Anna finds herself being compared to the likes of such great recording artists as Sarah McLachlan and even Jeff Buckley but when asked says she thinks of herself as one nestled deep in the crag between the singer-songwriter's of the folk world and the current crop of Parisian jazzy chanteuses emerging today.

Anna admits the road to recognition is long and well worn by weary travelers but she believes those who have gone before her have carved out steps where she finds herself along the way.

"The Bravest of all the Birds" is the culmination of over a years work, and has involved the creative input of several dear people with whom Anna feels extremely lucky to have worked with. It is a diverse EP containing songs that display a move toward further variety and exploration within her musical roots without losing the essence of her original style.

Anna wrote all of the songs on this EP within the first year of moving to the states and therefore she felt they were meant to be placed on their own EP, to mark this time in her life. It is a very personal project which she feels extremely proud of and longs to share with the world.
