Album Notes

“Put The Sun Back In The Sky” has already had airplay on WXPN 88.5, Philadelphia’s weekend morning program "Sleepy Hollow", with Chuck Elliot. Singing locally at the Mermaid Inn in Philadelphia for the last seven years, Anne Johnson decided to record this collection of timeless songs just so she could hear them for herself. “They are tunes that make me feel good when I sing them. When I heard myself on the radio, I was thrilled that they still made me feel good, if not better!"
At her recent CD release Party at the Mermaid Inn, Susan Bloch writes, “Anne and her supportive trio held us close. Her singing reveals her Southern roots and both tenderness and quiet gutsiness. She has written songs that get your heartstrings vibrating. She also has a knack for choosing covers of whimsical old tunes that sound kind of familiar and left me wanting more.”
In addition to Anne Johnson on vocals, the CD features Ray Duffy on guitar, Mike Blair on bass, and John Catterall on mandolin, with guitarist Chuck Anderson on “My Funny Valentine” and “Skylark.”
