L-Luvvd it!

Well, I was gonna have my big ol bucket o java this morning, but not now; Im totally wired after listening to Ms. Kadets music. Great deep brewed quality to voice and good blend of grind styles. Great balance of anger, desperation and wink wink, nudge nudge with a smooth finish. Bravo!

Squarepusher and Paul Mcartney-esque

There's a lot brewing in coffeebird. The opening track gives a double shot of square-pusheresque beats and manic bridges. The album's title track reflects on simple joys of a "coffee filtered crown" and a dog that barks when the pot runs dry. "Sarah!" is a shoutout to a girl that's a "heretic.. she's so aesthetic". The irresistable plea in "One more shot" layers vocals and instrumental breaks into a rising combustible dirigible. "I know" is the song you always wanted to hear your lover sing to you in your dreams. "Lady of the Future" and "Better Days" move the album into Paul McCartney/Wings territory where Anne shows her strongest songwriting. A careful chemistry of amusement and too-deep love .. strongly recommended!

Bacharach in a blender

Anne Kadet has the talent of some of the big name songwriters of the 60s and 70s. But they didn't have Garageband! Especially recommended for fans of Burt Bacharach and Jimmy Webb. But it has a modern quirky edge too that made me think of Andy Partridge of XTC.
