the first is last

I was introduced to Anne McCue listening to Bob Harris on Radio 2 (BBC). I agreed straight away that Roll was fantastic, and after getting it, I totaly agreed it was the best record of the that year! Somehow, I thought it might have been her first great record (don't know why I suspected that, maybe because she was so new to me) so I decided to hold on before buying another CD of hers. I know she has a more recent CD than Amazing Ordinary Things, (which I will now get) but I decided to get the earlier one, to see where she's comin from, I guess. And... it's been close to perfect as well. Don't know what it is but I really think she is a fanatstic writer, singer and guitarplayer (I have also read that Lucinda Willams think she is the best guitar player around - but that just proved my gutfeeling instinct was right). Amazing Ordinary things are still new to me but I just love it and I can now see where the fantastic "Roll" is comin from.

had heard a song off her live album, but picked this one since the other NA - glad I did. Very enjoyable to listen either the whole album or in a playlist. solid sound. Agree she is a bit like Lucinda Williams.
