Album Notes

Anne Mironchik’s tasty new album, "Cookin' in the Kitchen", is a well-seasoned collection of Anne’s original material, including the sizzling title track. She is a gifted vocalist, pianist, composer and lyricist with a conservatory degree in jazz and roots in rock, blues, R&B and country. Anne's repetoire includes a toe-tappin' mix of jazz standards, jazzy adult-contemporary favorites and her original, crowd-pleasing and critically acclaimed songs, reminiscent of adult contemporary hits of the 70s & 80s. Performing solo or with a jazz ensemble, Anne's delicious sound reaches back and forges ahead. She will melt your heart and satisfy your appetite for great new music.

Anne's first recording, the EP "Find Me", sold over 500 copies plus hundreds more in downloads so far -- a very respectable, first indie effort. She has begun drawing dozens of fans regularly to her shows in the New York. Her well-crafted songs mix the simplicity and soul of Carole King's melodies with the R&B spirit of Laura Nyro's chords and rhythms. Along with King and Nyro, her major influences include Nina Simone, Marcia Ball, Anita Baker, Nat "King" Cole and Diana Krall.

Anne has received grants from the Musician's Foundation and ASCAPlus. She was selected as a finalist with the UniSong International and Avalon songwriting competitions and the title track of her album is a selection of the Females on Fire III, a compilation produced by Warrior Girl Music. She is a student of Mike Longo, long-time pianist and arranger for Dizzy Gillespie.
