Album Notes

Annica, the Swedish sensation, has just completed her debut album entitled 'Annica'. Lending both writing and producing

talents on the album is Grammy Award winning Jeffrey Cohen. Jeffrey re-created his award winning song 'Freeway of Love' originally recored by Aretha Franklin, into a smooth, sexy new version for Annica. Annica also co-wrote 'Give Myself Away' with Jeffrey. The album features a catchy dance tune called 'I Wanna Love You' which debuted at #1 on the Billboard.net charts and stayed #1 for seven straight weeks! Annica's vocal prowess is quite evident on her power ballad 'Never Would Have Said Goodbye'. over 4oo,ooo plays on the internet, eight songs going #1 on the worldwide charts..

Much Better than the Old Freeway of Love

The only sad thing about this CD, is that we have heard the songs before on the Net, except Freeway of Love, okay we've heard the Franklin version. This one is much better, why you have to purchase this album. Annica shows some real Sophie Zelmani (another talented female Swedish performer) abilities, when it comes to her own songs, I guess So Suddenly is one of her own creations... I want to hear more of this singer/somgwriter, not just her performing others' work. The, I guess co-written, Place Where I Belong would fit like a glove in a Disney movie. It probably will show up in a TV series or feature (just like Zelmani's songs are all over us). Where has Annica been since '88? Didn't she perform once in Japan? Don't disappear for another decade, Annica! This is great!

What a fab album

As another CDbaby artist myself I really enjoy a regular browse of the site and Annica is one of my favourite 'discoveries'. All the songs on the album are good but the song 'Give Myself Away' is so well written and performed it's probably the track I like most on the album. Annica's such a talent that I have no idea why she's not more well known outside of the indie circles.

The best CD of the year!
author: Jamie Stevens

Annica's self-titled debut album is definitely the best CD I have purchased in a long time. I can't exactly say why. I assume it is her voice, which is really special. She knows how to carry a song and does not oversing like many other artist would do who sing the same kind of songs. My favorite song is "Above All," which is one of the most beautiful ballads ever. But there are a lot of songs with a funky attitude as well, such as "Been thinking about you" and "No Matter." Excellent!
