"Wake Up Sleepyhead" is the debut album for the Annie Jam Band. Great story-telling songs for children ages 1 to 9. Impressive vocals, imaginative lyrics and catchy melodies accompanied by creative musical arrangements will draw you in from start to finish.
The "Molly & Joey" sections are a brother and sister dialogue connecting each song to the next as they greet a bright new day filled with wonder and adventure.
The cd's title track "Wake Up Sleepyhead" starts the kids off climbing trees and looking for bugs. "I Saw a Ship" is a thrilling adventure on a ship in search of treasures while dealing with the perils of pirates and hurricanes. "Someplace We're Not" takes you to far off places using your endless imagination. "If I Were" gives goofy descriptions of being something other than yourself. "I Want to Fly" takes you to the treetops flying with the birds! "Seasons" captures the thrill of our changing seasons. "The Ankle Grabber" is a fun sort-of-spooky tale about trick or treating - with a moral to the story! "Little Things" makes you happy for the simple things in life ... The sweet voices of singing children are a part of "Over in the Meadow", "What the Animals Say", "Three Little Kittens" and "Guess If You Can". The cd wraps up with the mystical lullaby "Wynken, Blyken & Nod", originally released by Lucy & Carly Simon (The Simon Sisters) in the 1960s.
With Annies exceptional easy-listening voice, both kids and grown-ups will drawn in to melodies & lyrics that grab you and make you want to sing along.

Wonderfully imaginative, cleverly crafted

I found this CD to be incredibly moving in that I was swept into Annie's and Mike's wonderful world of childhood fantasy, even though I am an adult. The lyrics are sure to stir any child's imagination and draw them along with Molly and Joey as they venture along in Annie's make-believe world. Kudos to the musicians and their creativity.

Finding quality music that appeals to children and doesn't drive the adults crazy can be a challenge! Annie's songs are delightful and singable. The lyrics encourage children to use their imagination and are catchy enough to easily sing along. The melodies are written with the child's voice in mind and Annie's vocal tone quality is a good model for the young singer. Great for the music classroom or just for fun!

I just wanted to say how much my 4 and 6 year old love this cd. Both already know Molly & Joeys lines by heart. They don't want to turn it off when its time to get out of the car ... and I don't mind! Its very enjoyable Music.
