Annie Patterson has appeared as a folk performer at many festivals and camps across the US and Canada, including the New England Folk Festival, Augusta Heritage Center, Vancouver Folk Festival and Clearwater Hudson River Revival. She has also toured with her husband, Peter Blood, in New Zealand, England and Scotland. Annie accompanies herself on guitar and banjo and also plays the autoharp, penny whistle and mandolin. Her clear and stunning, honey-like voice can take you to another time and place when she sings old ballads collected from the Appalachian Mountains and the British Isles. She also loves to sing songs about love, great loss and the healing journey that often grows out of grief and sadness. Annie and her husband, Peter, are the co-editors and creators of the popular song book, Rise Up Singing *(a Sing Out Publication). She produced and also sings on companion teaching CD’s for Rise Up Singing. Annie can be heard singing old jazz and swing with the group Girls from Mars. Their recordings include “Planet Swing” and “Hep Cat Holiday”. To hear Annie sing what she loves best, listen to her most recent folk recording, “Mountain Side”. This CD is a beautiful collection of her favorite songs from Rise Up Singing, including a haunting rendition of the Michael Smith's song, “Spoon River” and her all time favorite Joan Baez' song “All the Weary Mothers of the Earth”.
