Album Notes

"The Hope Street Sessions/Live at the Lakeside Lounge" is a double cd: 1/2 recorded in the studio and the other half live. What makes this cd so special is that it includes Ann's Austrian (Salzburg) riddim section: Klaus Kircher on bass and Robert Kainar on drums. They have been touring Europe regularly for the last 10 years and producer Tim Hatfield (Keith Richards, The Damnwells, Eric "Roscoe" Ambel...) saw them and felt it was time to get the band to NYC and into his studio (Cowboy Technical Services). Because the band has had such success in Europe live, Hatfield felt he should also record the band live.

Special guests on this double cd: Mary Lee Kortes, Rob Arthur, Eric "Roscoe" Ambel and Phil Cimino.

For those of you who know Ann Klein, you know that she's been part of the NYC music scene for a long time now, having played with a list of all star artists (Kate Pierson, Joan Osborne, PM Dawn, etc). When she got a '52 reissue Fender Telecaster, something changed and she never turned back. Then she met producer/engineer Tim Hatfield That solidified her growing interest in the swamp twang thang and together they produced "My Own Backyard" which boasted a touch of twang mixed in with Ann's NYC roots. "The Hope Street Sessions/Live at the Lakeside Lounge" takes this approach a step further. Laced with lap steel, dulcitar, Ann's signature guitar solos and poignant lyrics, "The Hope Street Sessions/Live at the Lakeside Lounge" is an Americana by way of NYC by way of Salzburg, Austria! disc.

Ann has been featured in national magazines such as Billboard, Relix, and Harp and has toured in Europe every year for the last 9 years. She also is a sought after guitarist/writer/producer for several different projects.

Great music from a great artist - in studio and live

An outstanding album, with only superb songs on it; great singer / songwriter; great guitarist. You will want to listen to the music again and again! Consists of a studio and a live cd - nice to hear guest musicians Eric Ambel (guitar) and Mary Lee Kortes (bg vocals) on some tracks.
