Album Notes

Ann Lindquist is a versatile flute player out of Mukilteo, Washington, celebrating a repertoire that spans many genres of music, including jazz; classical; folk; Latin and middle-eastern styles, and especially improvisation. Her performances on concert, alto and bass flute have taken her to a multitude of festivals, including the Oregon Country Fair; Bumbershoot and Folk Life in Seattle; performances at the Washington State Governor\'s Mansion and Capital Building in Olympia; to venues in Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and beyond. She has even played atop pyramids in Mexico and Ayers Rock in Australia. Ann draws much of her inspiration from nature, and can often be found toting a flute or three along for a peaceful day hike.

For Ann, exploring the potential for spreading health and happiness through music has been a lifelong career. She has studied music therapy for nearly two decades and holds a Fellowship from the Institute for Music Centered Therapies. She also completed a year of study and research on \'Sacred Cross-Cultural Healing Music\' at the Open Ear Center in Bainbridge, Washington. In addition, Ann co-founded and directed the Olympia Flute Choir for seven years. She has played in chamber orchestras, classical, jazz and world music ensembles, and her passion for improvisation has led her to performances with Playback Theater in Wenatchee, Washington, and even improvisational dance troupes. For the past several years, Ann has been performing regularly with Scott Cossu, bringing her flutes and energy to his original compositions.

Ann has recorded with artists Linda Khandro, Susan Osborn and Scott Cossu, and groups like Sphyrix and ShAnLi.

Ann\'s debut album as a composer, Rain Largo, explores the passion and peace of water through all its forms. Instrumental and acoustic, it is well suited for listening in a creative moment.
