October 27, 1979 marked the release of Ann-Margret's single "Love Rush," on Ocean Records later to be acquired by MCA Universal. It climbed Billboard’s dance chart giving Ann-Margret her first top 10 hit. The success of that single spawned a five-track Dance EP for Ann-Margret. It was released in the beginning of 1980, and from it came "Midnight Message," which entered the dance charts and once again attained another top 10 Dance record. From these, she was nominated for best new artist of the year. Although she was riding the fall of the Disco era, Ann-Margret managed one more Billboard charting in 1981 with "Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes". This and other chartings from her Dance releases earned Ann-Margret the Entertainer of the Year Award for Las Vegas two years running!
