This is the first of three CDs by Anomalous Quintet, released in 1999 (see also Life on an Oblate Spheroid, and Simple Forms). Composer, guitarist, and band leader formed this group in 1997 in Portland, OR. Anomalous Quintet has been described as "fresh and innovative" by Jazzreview.com, "luxuriant" by Jazznow.com, and "supremely funky" by Portland's Oregonian newspaper.
