As a trio of just-turned-twenty-year-olds from Syracuse, NY the veteran status of this band is unquestioned. They have three indie rock releases to their credit and have delivered their live show in clubs and community centers in almost half of the country. Anorexic Beauty Queen has played many of these shows alongside bands like Copeland, Acceptance, As Tall As Lions, The Early November and Underoath among countless others. Every show the band moves closer to much bigger success, yet they all remain humbled to be in their current position being fortunate to spend time on the road.
With their latest full-length effort, This Little Light, Anorexic Beauty Queen crafts a disk of melodic arrangements and emotional lyrics that urge listeners to engage. Songs like Soon, I Promise and Falling Over You have become instant fan favorites because of the honest writing and delivery of singer Mike Watson.
With drummer Nick Irvine and bassist Isaac Deitz rounding out the trio, ABQ is poised to return to the road this fall.

Highly listenable again and again with an emotional punch.

When I come across a CD that I enjoy listening through from beginning to end without skipping a single song, it's a major event. THIS CD is THAT kind of CD! Each song has something to say and it's said with character and talent. It's no secret that I was a fan of ABQ before the third CD release, but so often bands that catch my ear with one release are hard pressed to keep my attention. Without depreciating their other recordings, this is definately their strongest.

Music to leave you wanting more!

This CD was my introduction to the music of Anorexic Beauty Queen, and I was totally blown away. The songs have refreshing melody and substance in lyrics, style and execution. It's no surprise that if you catch a live show of the band, all of the songs from this CD are "sing along". They're THAT good! You'll definitely be singing along too. The only negative thing about "Me In Reverse" is that it's 6 tracks go by too fast and you'll be wanting more.
(Fortunately their follow up release doesn't disappoint!)
