Album Notes

Two life long best friends and college roommates at their finest create the dynamic Hip-Hop band, Anti-Crew.

The founding members, FlareThaRebel and DJ Eternal, came together at an early age in Kansas City, MO with a passion for reckless behavior, video games, and of course, music. After making a dent in their home scene, being noted as one of the "Top 30 artist under the age of 30" by the Kansas City Star, the duo decided to expand their career and move to Chicago, IL to attend Columbia College.

College dorm life would unfold a cascade of wild stories to tell, but most importantly it paired Pat Attack with DJ Eternal and Cambo with FlareThaRebel. Soon after, Archangel, also a student at Columbia College, hooked up with Anti-Crew as well. Friendship was natural for the five members as they developed a chemistry that revolved around each other's diverse musical backgrounds-a staple which is reflected in the band's cross-genre sound.

Pat Attack, the shredding and melodic guitarist, Archangel, the versatile and proficient drummer, and DJ Eternal, are all sons of professional musicians, ranging from Classical, to Rock, to Jazz. DJ Eternal, known as the multi-tasking machine, contributes vocals (rapping and singing), turntablism, and guitar on record as well as during live performances. Lead vocalist/MC FlareThaRebel, born with a culturally enriched Hip-Hop spirit in Brooklyn, NY has a rhyming method both socially stimulating and entertaining enough to make heads nod. And bassist Cambo, is a "funkaholic" who lives by the grooves of bass rhythm.

Anti-Crew's music, though Hip-Hop at the core, has a range which redefines boundaries. Their style encompasses the essence of live instrumentation blended well with original sampling. Combine that with harmonizing hooks and lyrical content that seamlessly moves from raw and heavy hitting, to conscious, to witty story telling and you have an eclectic sound ready to capture your ear.

The band is also known for their highly energetic live performances. Anti-Crew delivers a show that makes the crowd jump, scream, and literally toss people into the air.

College life, musical prominence, and a passionate drive is the force that has brought Anti-Crew together. Their charisma and unique style continues to win new fans and has brought the band an early taste of success that has only just begun.

Anti-Crew Leaves us Begging for More!!
author: Gus Rodeen
Best work to date? I don't believe so, I know so! Once again Anti-Crew has invaded my mind and left behind what can only be described as AMAZING! This album leaves you yearning and begging for more...and this is just an EP!! Are you kidding me!! The dynamic duo of DJ Eternal and FlareThaRebal return for round 3 and this time they've brought company. After years of being a two man show, the duo have joined forces with a crew of outstanding musicians. With all their talent and skills combined the end result, of what was already great, is now amazing! The crew is now stronger than ever and the music speaks for itself. The album kicks off with a familiar song (Sky High) from one of Anti's previous releases. The track now sounds better than ever. You can hear each separate instrument and the lyrics flow smoother throughout the song. Sky High isn't the only track that was refreshed on Foundation, "Keep Talkin" also makes a triumphant return. Personally, I was mostly impressed with a few of the new tracks on the album. With the help of a full band it would appear that Flare and Eternal can concentrate now more on writing and introducing fresh ideas. Never afraid to mix up their style a bit, the crew provides us with an excellent mix of hip hop, rap, and rock. This time around they've added a new element to their music, singing. DJ Eternal lends his voice to the chorus of the track "After the End" and does so in brilliant fashion. Hands down it is the best track on the album, followed closely by "One Time". The track "One Time" starts off with a heavy guitar riff showcasing the new sound of the band and then fades into over five minutes of chill lyrics, ending in explosive Anti-Crew style. The new album is an EP including seven awesome tracks. The fact that it is not a full album does not discredit or hold it back in anyway. Foundation is the bands best work to date without a doubt. Anyone looking for a great album in a genre saturated with over used cliches, recycled beats, and unoriginal sound should definitely pick this one up!

Fantastic
author: Andrew Vorce
From the beginning of their musical careers into their first and second full EP, their style has truly advanced into a style of their own. From the melodic 311 sounding One Time to the unique values of "Matt and Jeff's Bogus Adventure", Anti-Crew continues to grow into a bigger and better band. With local super star Mac Lethal gracing Keep Talkin' '08, Anti-Crew will be pushing very hard in to break into the main scene in the next five years.

Primary Encounter.
author: Luma Krouse
You may think that you've reached the majestic cliffs of sonic Dover, you may think you've found the hidden level in the desert theme world of Super Mario DS, you may think that you're listening to James Earl Jones read War & Peace on an audio mp3; only to navigate reality and realize that you are listening to A. Crew's new release, Foundation. The chemistry of the band-mates and their charisma make this album an undeniably successful symphony that evokes pride and satisfaction. Bravo!
