Formed by five people with remarkably different musical backgrounds, Antoine Reverb is a band that started in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico with the recording of some home-made demos in mid 2007.
What began as a purely folk idea (just acoustic instruments), today has evolved into a combination of different influences and sounds, which have been added to the folk base that still give the band its foundation. Those can include: shoegaze, 60’s psychedelia, tropicalia, noise, dream pop and a hint of lo-fi.
In diferent periods of 2008, Antoine Reverb recorded material for their first LP. Titled “Goodbye Victorian Houses”, it contains nine songs which demonstrate the accelerated growth that the band has had. Alternating between catchy melodies, moments of explosive calm and elegant atmospheres, it’s a record that demands multiple listens to fully enjoy it but can get you hooked instantly.
