Album Notes

An Triúr blends uillean pipes, whistle, flute, bodhran, and guitar, with an ear for the nuance of the traditional set and modern pop-friendliness.

A Florida-based trio, An Triúr plays traditional Irish tunes, songs and a few original songs as well. "An Triúr" is Irish for "Three People", and those three people are:

John Maze (uilleann pipes/bodhrán/accordian) is one of the leading American proponents of the uilleann pipes. He is the founder and sometimes director of one of the largest sets of workshops and concerts focusing on Irish traditional music in the country.

Larre Reeves (flute, whistle, concertina, mandolin, and bodhrán) is a teacher of Irish traditional music. During his professional career, he has represented the United States three times in Ireland at the Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann. Numerous visits to County Clare help to anchor his style of playing.

Mick Richmond (guitar/vocal/whistles/bodran) has been singing and playing guitar since the age of 11. Until 2004, he was primarily a rock musician and singer/songwriter with various Florida bands. Mick applies a modern pop approach to the traditional genre and the interpretation of Irish songs and ballads.
