The brothers VanNorstrand offer up an eclectic mix of superbly crisp and clean melodies on this latest cd! Blending influences from the world over, both musical and natural, their previously demonstrated skill-beyond-their-years has melded into a beautiful gem, as multi-faceted as the layers of slick riffs and astute phrasing they lay down. Special favorites of this listener, who hasn't taken it off Real Player in 2 days, include West End/Magic Valley and Sage Creek/The Dread Pirate/Ruby and Bing. Indeed, I'm sure I heard the strains of Sage Creek myself wafting on some May breeze while photographing songbirds at Derby Hill at sometime or other.
