The faint hum of vibrational tremors when one places their ear to the ground in anticipation. Healing rushing waters finding its way through stubborn areas of hurt only to cleanse a wound and keep the soul from returning to the stagnant pools of water.

Album Notes

It was August of 2003 when four musicians and one abstract artist amalgamated together to form An Opiate For Angels. This wasn’t to be a typical sound that would emerge from California, it was birthed to be different. Blending passionate songwriting with abstract interpretive art, AOFA has constantly been searching for new ways of delivering the sounds that inspire them. With daring yet hypnotic guitar work and aggressive tension-release melodic hooks, a sound is crafted that allows the listener to become fully enveloped in a sonic journey and then taken away.
Although it is hard to ignore the spiritual experience of AOFA , it is not just present in the lyrics or music, but also in the art. Bringing back emotional performances with carefully crafted beats and breath taking bass vibrations, their frequencies have provided an under-current of dramatic sound for the unpredictable vocal transmission that occurs. The combined sound and art leaves the listener in a pensive trance and truly then becomes An Opiate For Angels.

Amazing live experience - a blend of deep emotion & mystery
author: Jon
Not only is this Cd "out of this world", but AOFA's live performance makes you just want to cry out with emotion screaming, "that's it...that's it...that is how I feel!" In all their live & recorded mystery, they never sway lyrically or musically from a sense of some sort of journey. . .a journey for love & purpose. The music is raw & the cd sounds like they do live! A great cd to buy 2 - one to listen & one to keep wrapped in plastic! Great artistic expression on a purist level. Keep your eyes open for this band....they will amaze you & uplift you again & again! -JON

One of my all time favorites
author: rhonda
As the first CD hailing from AOFA, I was moved with emotions that I had not experienced before when listening to a new artist. Maybe it was the arrangements of the songs, the textures or maybe it was the artwork as my ears listened attentively.. The vocals were at times mesmerizing. Haunting melodies touching my inner part of my being that held past hurts and woundings that were crying out to be released. I found veracity of sound,a new transparency in the lyrics and very vitalizing in AOFA album. The artwork of the CD was stimulating. No earthy opiate can take the place of what An Opiate for angels music has done for me. I anticipate what AOFA has to offer us, the listener in the near future.. Indubitable the best to come out of the dreary music selection of 2004.
