Christmas songs like you've never heard before ~ a new holiday classic! Angels Of Venice's "Sanctus" (meaning "sacred") combines global influences such as world/middle eastern, gothic, medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical and traditional sounds to create a CD of holiday music that is refreshing and innovative ~ quite the opposite of a "Jingle Bells"-type CD. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is world fusion in style, soothing and silky featuring violinist Eric Gorfain, who toured with Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, on serptentine violin. "Carol Of The Bells" is in the style of Dead Can Dance while "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy" sounds like the soundtrack to "A Nightmare Before Christmas." Fourteen months in the making, this CD's instrumentation consists of exotic instruments such as harp, flute, cello, violin and percussion, harpsichord, tanpura (like a sitar), oboe, bassoon, bass, church bells, temple bells, gongs, chimes, Gregorian chant-type vocals and stunning female vocals on "Carol Of The Bells." EXOTIC NEW CD: "ANCIENT DELIRIUM"
A new CD entitled "ANCIENT DELERIUM" was released September 23, 2009. Vocalist CHARLES EDWARD from the industrial/goth/rock band SERAPHIM SHOCK adds his velvety rich voice to all tracks and Carol's long-time engineer, FLORIAN AMMON, is again producing. Of interest is the fact that Florian just mixed several songs on the upcoming 2009 U2 album "No Line On The Horizon" and has just finished mixing the new RAMMSTEIN CD.
