Swedish garage punk band Apa State Mental is back with their second release
on their own label The Almighty Kong. The follow-up to 2007’s self-titled debut is called
“The Reunited Heavy Metal States of Apa State Mental” and features twenty tracks in just over
half an hour, keeping it short and sweet. The release is also available on vinyl.
2008 saw the band play a number of shows in Sweden, songs from the debut were featured
on a lot of American podcasts such as Burrito Electrico, Blaqart Radio and Rock N Roll Geek Show
and the track “You Wanna“ finished in the top five on PunkRadioCast’s Top 40 Countdown
in February 2009. Press play!

"The music of Apa State Mental is like listening to the most obnoxious boys in a kindergarten fighting on the playground. And that’s not an insult, it’s a compliment!"
"Well, the word genius lies on my tongue – dare I speak it? Oh yes, I dare, I dare…" 5 out of 5
I-94 Bar:
"If the Hives traded in their white suits at the door for straight jackets, this album would be the soundtrack to the Thorazine kicking in."
Bobby Durango (Rock City Angels):
"APA STATE MENTAL have long been my favorite, new punkrockandroll band and you've now given me even more reason to feel that way."
Ox-Fanzine:
"Wild genug für diese Vermutung klingen sie auch diesmal, spannen einen weiten Bogen von eher an die STOOGES erinnerndem Proto-Punk über rücksichtslose NEW BOMB TURKS-Blasts und frühe(!) HIVES bis zu HENRY FIAT'S OPEN SORE-mäßigem LoFi-Geschraddel." 8 out of 10
