Album Notes
Anna Polusmiak was born in 1983 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She began her study of piano at Kharkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children at age six, where she was a student of Sergei Polusmiak, "Honored Artist of Ukraine".

At age twelve she performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.1 with Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra, Ukraine.

Anna was a prizewinner of Milosh Magin International Piano Competition (Third Prize), Paris, France; Nikolai Rubenstein International Piano Competition (Second Prize), Paris, France, and received a Diploma from Horowitz Competition For Young Pianists, Kiev, Ukraine. She has presented many solo recitals in Ukraine, Russia, France,U.S. and Mexico.In 1999 Anna won the Concerto Competition at the Eastern Music Festival,Greensboro, North Carolina and First Prize of the Kentucky Music Teachers Association Collegiate Competition.

Spring, 2000, Anna won First Prize of the International Piano Competition, Lugansk, Ukraine and performed with Lugansk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Summer, 2000, she won First Prize of Ludmila Knezkova-Hussey International Piano Competition, age 17 and under, Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada and performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.3 with l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal.Fall, 2000, Anna performed Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2 with Northern Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.

Anna is sophomore music major at Northern Kentucky University where she is a student of Sergei Polusmiak.

Dmitri Shelest was born in 1983 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. From the age of six he attended Kharkiv Music School, and in 1995 he entered the Kharkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children where he studied with the "Honored Artist" of Ukraine, Professor Sergei Polusmiak. The same year he participated in the International Piano Competition in memory of Pavel Lutsenko, Kharkiv, Ukraine, where he received a Diploma and Special Prize.

In April 2000 Dmitri became a prizewinner of the International Piano Competition in memory of Pavel Serebriakov, Russia. In February 2001 he was a participant in the International Corpus Christi Young Artist's Competition, USA. He has presented many solo recitals in Ukraine, Russia and USA. Presently, Dmitri is a freshman music major at Northern Kentucky University where he continues his study with Professor Sergei Polusmiak.

Anna Sysun was born in 1983 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. From the age of six she attended Kharkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children, where she studied with Professor Sergei Polusmiak, "Honored Artist of Ukraine". When Anna was twelve years old, she took part in the Czherny International Young Artists' Piano Competition, Prague, Czech Republic. She has participated in several piano festivals; among them are:Aivazovsky International Music Festival, Feodosia, Ukraine and Summer Piano Institute, Northern Kentucky University. She has performed many chamber and solo recitals in Ukraine, Russia, and USA. Presently, Anna is a sophomore music major at Northern Kentucky University where she continues her study with Professor Sergei Polusmiak.
