REVIEWS

An excellent record
author: ANTONIO MARIA RIVERO ESPADAS
Although this is not my favourite AP album, it´s an excellent record. But I would rather recommend for the newly initiated "I have no feelings" and "Sky Skating", for me her best records to date. Anyway, "Elect yourself" is an amazing masterpiece, lightyears ahead of its time. You gotta understand me: I´m deeply in love with this incredible woman´s music!

Light years ahead of its time!
author: Eric
Track one, Elect Yourself, is the quintessential anthem of self-empowerment. This record preceded rap & hip-hop by a full decade. Visionary, with an oft-sensuous delivery of her poetic vocals, Annette also programmed and played many of the instruments on these tracks. This record has lots of attitude, edge and holds up as much now as when it was first recorded. Go get it while it's here!

This is the find of all time - don't miss this one while it's in stock!

This is an artist with unusual lyrics and great backup musicians. The unbelievably catchy (and 14 minute long) "Elect Yourself" is followed by a brilliant 50 second 6/4 "Memory Is". These cuts comprise one of the great lost classics in Jazz/Pop recordings.

A Classic
author: Daniel
Abstract Contact is a visceral and potent dish of progressive jazz that’s still as strong as ever after sixteen years. This thing busts loose. The musicianship is superb, the twists and turns amazing. Annette Peacock’s wise rap is even more relevant, as one hears it today, than it was sixteen years ago. This is a special album and one of Peacock’s best, like a jazz lecture about the world. Her poetry is set against a rhythmic backdrop which moves! There’s a lot of strategic layering of sounds on this album, technically and artistically brilliant. I’ve been looking for this for years, and I’m glad to have it back. Thank you cdbaby!
