Album Notes

Described as "The Pixies on ecstasy" (City Beat - Cincy, OH) and "manic, feverish, and damn near irresistible" (Splendid - Chicago, IL), The Apparitions have been featured on MTV, charted on CMJ, shared bills with notable groups such as The Features, Cat Power, The Standard, Elefant, & Califone, and landed their self-released debut, Oxygen Think Tank, on numerous year-end independent "Best Of" lists- a direct result of the band's engaging lyrics and jangle-hooked melodies. Back with their Machine Records debut, As This Is Futuristic, The Apparitions feature two distinct lead vocalists and a three-guitar sonic assault that is dynamic, angular, and full of wiry tension. The Apparitions thrive with a unique brand of golden pop rock, wrapping dystopian riddles, whimsical stories, and spastic social commentary in sugary melodies and swampy harmonic bliss.

“Smart, sardonic vocal delivery is supported by a tight, no-frills rock and roll outfit on melodic, hook-laden tunes.”

Cool - definitely cool. Great tunes, great melodies. For some reason this CD strikes me as one that would do very well in Japan.
